Name of Owner(s)

Gwendolyn Pruitt

What was your inspiration behind your business?

To provide the community with an enriched art experience befitting of the richness ingrained in the history of Bronzeville.

What makes your business special from other competitors?

Although Tangible Things is an art gallery and store, we are special because I am open-minded and willing to let young adults use my space as a platform of expression. I offer classes and open mic performance opportunities where I also highlight their aspirations. I also provide the community with opportunities to share and grow in esoteric concepts by offering Reiki, Clearings, crystals knowledge, sage techniques and make available alter items. Lastly, I am collaborating with a non-profit that provides housing for the homeless. We have come up with a new initiative inclusive of artists from around the world. More customers, more advertising, more trolley tours, more coupons.

Should we look forward to new changes in 2019?

Yes. I will offer more private group classes, more affordable 2d art such as prints and Giclee’.
