Bronzeville will once again host a series of summer programming that offers shopping, culture, and revelry to the greater Chicago community. Long known as a stronghold of African-American heritage and deep cultural roots, the historic neighborhoods of Bronzeville kick off the seventh season of Bronzeville Summer Nights to celebrate and promote commerce in the community on Friday, June 14, 2019. The subsequent events will run every second Friday of the month through September – 7/12, 8/9, 9/13. Admission is free and open to the public.

Powered by the Quad Communities Development Corporation (QCDC), an organization committed to lifting up communities and creating new opportunities for inclusive economic growth, Bronzeville Summer Nights is sure to have a little something for everyone. The event series promises an amazing lineup of arts and culture, entertainment, food, and fun for the whole family.

Chicago’s own soul singers Simone Green and Denton Arnell of The Voice headline the June 14 kick-off event. Back by popular demand is the BSN Vendor Market offering an eclectic mix of beauty, fashion and craft that heavily promotes the shop local and Chicago-made movements.

Bronzeville Summer Nights’ cultural programming along the 43rd and 47th commercial corridors has played a crucial role in the community’s economic success by engaging over 40,000 participants in the past six years. The event series provides a wonderful opportunity for community members and tourists alike to not only walk the commercial corridors, but also experience the sights and sounds of a neighborhood where African-American music, literature, fine art and theater have historically thrived.

Take in all the action on foot, free trolley rides and by bike. The BSN Bike Tour is back for a third year with partnering sponsor DIVVY-Lyft and hosted by local business partner, Small Shop Cycle & Service.
